Building community through the power of choral and orchestral music in Davis County, Utah.
North Star Choir and Orchestra is a community-based ensemble serving Davis County, Utah, dedicated to performing sacred music that testifies of Jesus Christ—our true North Star. Founded in 2026 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we grew out of the Davis County Easter Choir with a renewed mission to share faith-promoting works through choral and orchestral performance.
Each year, our cornerstone performance is Rob Gardner’s Lamb of God, a powerful sacred oratorio depicting the final days of the Savior’s life. As we grow, we plan to expand our repertoire to include additional religious masterworks that inspire and uplift.
We are currently seeking singers and instrumentalists of all experience levels who share our passion for faith-filled music. Rehearsals are held weekly in Layton. If you feel called to raise your voice or instrument in praise, we invite you to join us.
King David is a man after God’s own heart and the divinely appointed Music Director of North Star Choir and Orchestra. Though best known for his reign over Israel and his victory over Goliath, David is first and foremost a musician—a skilled harpist and the author of the majority of the Psalms.
With several millennia of experience in worship leadership, David brings an unrivaled depth of spiritual insight to every rehearsal. He has composed much of what is now called the Psalter and has led countless congregations in songs of praise, lament, and thanksgiving. His conducting style is passionate, intuitive, and Spirit-led.
David is particularly excited about building a community ensemble in Davis County. “Sing to the Lord a new song,” he often reminds the choir. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
